I posted a quote on my Facebook (and got into it with a mutual friend over religion) for Remembrance Day, and now I feel kind of fatuous for not having anything of my own to offer.
I can't even begin to imagine.
Courage is where you feel cold and sick and weak all over, terrified clear through, and you keep walking anyways. Generations of men and women have walked into a hail of bullets through mud and shit and sand and sleet. They keep going. It has to be a calling, something bigger. Something deep in their inner core must be harder than steel.
This sounds stupidly pretentious, I don't even know where I'm going with it. But I'm humbled and thankful.
